DELAWARE – In March of 2013, Officer Andrel Martinez was charged for stalking and threatening a girl who had broken up with him.
He used his position as an officer to access the Justice Information System to see files and history about not only her, but her friends and family as well.
He got away with it and was allowed to keep his job with only a suspension, and the charge was dropped.
Now Officer Andrel is back in the news again.
He has also been charged with second-degree unlawful imprisonment, menacing, and endangering the welfare of a child.
The extent to which the baby was abused is not yet known. But the woman, who was his new wife, appears to have been severely strangled.

Officer Martinez was sent to Sussex Correctional Institution on $8,750 cash bond, according to reports.
His wife reported that she was being abused by the officer domestically.
Officer Martinez remains suspended without pay and benefits — whether he will be convicted is an open question.
