A brutal sex attacker who raped a 17-year-old girl in a churchyard while ordering her to call him ‘master’ has been jailed for ten-and-a-half years.
Adam Riding plied his teenage victim with alcohol in a nightclub before later punching her as she tried to run away, dragging her into a secluded alcove at the side of a church.
The 24-year-old, who was on the Sex Offender’s Register at the time of the May attack, continued to strike her in the head and neck as he threatened to stab her.
Riding ordered the terrified girl to remove her clothes and raped her, calling her a ‘little rape victim’ and ‘b*tch’ as he carried out his attack in Southport, Merseyside.
The ordeal lasted 20 minutes, after which he ordered the ‘hysterical’ teenager to walk home naked with him before she escaped and ran into the arms of a male passer-by.
Judge Denis Watson, QC, said Riding posed a high risk of causing serious harm and added a four-and-a-half year extended licence period on his sentence.
He said: “The psychological trauma which flows from this will be significant and lasting.”
The court heard how Riding was jailed four years ago for pushing a woman to the floor in Liverpool city centre at 6am, and repeatedly punching her while climbing on top of her and demanding sex.
Paul Lewis said his ‘self-loathing’ client ‘bitterly regrets his behaviour’ and blamed his actions on being bullied at school and the death of his father when he was 19.
The barrister added his mum and sisters had blacklisted him from the family and that Riding, of no fixed address, once tried to hang himself outside a girlfriend’s home.
