HIV positive sex offender, David Richard Wilson, has been charged this week with with sexually assaulting his 23-month-old niece and impregnating a 14-year-old girl.
If that weren’t awful enough, the 33-year-old Texas man infected both victims with herpes, chlamydia and HIV.
Wilson was already a registered sex offender, dating back to the aggravated sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl eight years prior, when he went to live with the parents of his 23-month-old niece. When the toddler tested positive for HIV, herpes and chlamydia last November, Wilson was one of four people in the house, and the only other one to test positive for HIV. Because the child had lived in various households during her infancy, police couldn’t prove Wilson was the perpetrator. It wasn’t until a 14-year-old girl, who also tested positive for the same sexually transmitted infections, came forward claiming she’d been having sex with Wilson since she was 12, that police were able to link the two cases.
Though Wilson was aware he was HIV positive and it “scared him,” he allegedly continued to have sex with the 14-yea-old girl. In a court affidavit, she said that she and Wilson “would park on a cul-de-sac near her school and have sex in his car. The last time, they had unprotected sex.”
But wait, there’s more horribleness.
The sergeant of HPD’s child sex crime unit reports that Wilson recently admitted that he’s had sex with “numerous other people,” but he has yet to tell investigators how many more victims may be involved, their ages, names or dates.
Authorities’ biggest concern is that he infected many more victims, especially children, with HIV. HPD reports that Wilson was in a “position to meet children and students through his jobs at several fast food restaurants in the city.” They are asking anyone who may have had contact with Wilson to call police immediately.
