Kent police officer dies aged 43

Comments (1) A KENT police officer who began his career in Thanet has died at the age of 43.
Sergeant Peter Wakerly died last Friday.
A police statement said: “Pete had served Kent Police for over 20 years, beginning his career as a probationer in Thanet and most recently working as a staff officer to the Chief Officer Team. He also served in the Professional Standards Department for several years.”
ACC Jo Shiner, added: ‘While Pete only worked for me for a few months, his tremendous commitment and integrity shone through and I know that he was held in the highest regard by so many people. We have lost a very dedicated officer.”
