Three men appeared in court at Bromley yesterday all charged with the same seven offences. They were arrested after police investigations into the magazine of the Paedophile Information Exchange.
Steven Adrian Smith, aged 29, of Christchurch Avenue, Harrow, north London, and David Peter Bremner, aged 44, of Upper Clapton Road, east London, appeared together and were remanded on bail by the magistrates. Later, David Joy, aged 42, a former teacher, of Russell Street, Loughborough, appeared before the magistrates and was also remanded on bail for a month.
The charges include: publishing an obscene article, a magazine called Contact No. 6; inciting persons to have unlawful intercourse with a girl under 16; inciting persons to commit buggery; inciting persons indecently to assault a boy under 16; inciting persons to commit an act of gross indecency with a child under 14; sending a postal packet containing an indecent article.
The alleged offences took place between June and November 1982.
