The judge noted that Drinkwater had been ‘manipulated and exploited’, but told her: ‘That does not amount to an excuse or justification for what you did.’ Concerns about Drinkwater’s contact with Gregory were raised during their affair, which lasted between 2015 and 2017. Gregory was one of four members of the Burger Bar Boys to be jailed in 2005 (Picture: SWNS) Prison bosses installed covert surveillance cameras in her office, and the couple were caught having sex. They also recorded Drinkwater smuggling packages including cannabis and SD cards containing pornography into prison. ‘Breaking-bad crystal meth lab’ found in bushes in popular park When her home was searched, a notebook with doodles detailing their relationship was found, as well as text conversations between her and another person who she later admitted was Gregory. Drinkwater’s barrister Mark Shelley said she was in an ’emotionally unstable state’, and was in love with him. The defendant, of Ramsey in Cambridgeshire, admitted misconduct in a public office, possession of cannabis with intent to supply, and conveyance of an SD card into a prison. Gregory and three other members of the Burger Bar Boys – Marcus Ellis, Nathan Martin and Rodrigo Simms – were found guilty of the murders and jailed for life in 2005. The shooting in Aston happened as a result of an escalating gang war between the group and their rivals, the Johnson Crew. Got a story for Metro.co.uk?
