A policeman has been found guilty of raping a woman 15 years ago.
Richard Hale attacked the woman in her 20s after they visited pubs together.
The rape in 2001 came two years before he joined the Thames Valley force.
The victim reported her ordeal to police in June 2012.
Hale, 35, of Carterton, Oxon, was convicted after a trial at Oxford Crown Court and remanded in custody for sentencing later.
Assistant Chief Constable Jason Hogg said: “There is no place in the force for those who commit offences of this nature.”
He
added: “Victims of all sexual offences, regardless of when they
occurred, should feel confident in reporting incidents to us.”
A misconduct investigation has been launched in the wake of the conviction.
