“Im afraid my client is completely unfit to give evidence your honour. AS an elderly man who has recently suffered memory loss due to a car accident, he would be unable to remember not reporting the rape of children over 2 decades and having business dealings with a peadophile.”

Ex-Celtic chairman Jack McGinn feared he’d die as he lay bloodsoaked on road after horror van smash

FORMER Celtic chairman Jack McGinn told how he feared he’d die after a van hit him and threw him into the air.

The ex-SFA president, 86, said he thought it was “the end of the road” as he lay bloodsoaked with a smashed jaw and dislocated eye socket.

Paramedics rushed him to hospital after he was struck by the reversing vehicle near his home in Dumbarton.
Mr McGinn told The Scottish Sun on Sunday: “The van was there as I walked past and a guy was heading towards the driver’s door.

“I walked a few steps and the next thing I got hit with a terrible bang and I was up in the air.
“Then it dawned on me it must have been the van.
“I was lying on my back and looking up at the blue sky and clouds thinking, ‘What is the damage?’
“I had pains and people round me, then the ambulance came. The crew put me in a neck brace.

Stevie Chalmers and Billy McNeill surprise Celtic fan in archive footage of BBC show Hearts Of Gold

“I knew the whole way to hospital that they were very concerned. I genuinely thought this could be the end of the road. It was scary.”
The grandad of Scotland ace John McGinn, 24, is now trying to recover from last week’s ordeal.
He said: “I broke my jaw, my eye socket was dislocated, my calf is badly injured and I’m black and blue right up my side.
“I’m in pain — it was a horrible experience.”

Mr McGinn was Hoops chair from 1986 to 1991.
Police confirmed a man, 44, has been reported for alleged road traffic offences.
