Police probing bogus Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire parent emails
Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire councils are warning anyone who receives the email not to respond but to contact the authorities.
The email supposedly comes from a club called Aberdeenshire Rugby, which does not exist.
It asks for details of boys.
Body photos The author claims to have received an email about the recipient’s son’s rugby performance, and to be establishing a free 12-week training programme in Aberdeen.
It asks for information about the primary six and seven boys, including their name, date of birth, medical conditions, and a photo of their upper body.
Aberdeen City Council said no reputable, registered sports organisation would contact families in such a way.
Sport and physical activity strategy and partnership manager Jo Hall said: “Remember the ‘Stranger Danger’ rule applies online as well as on the phone or in the street.”
