A shamed lawyer who claims stress from his job caused him to download scores of sickening child abuse images walked free from court today.

Hugh Jackson, 31, stored a total of 230 pornographic pictures of children as young as two on work and home computers.
The married solicitor and churchgoer claims anxiety from his job at a leading London housing and community care law firm triggered his child porn addiction.
The father-of-one also trawled through paedophile chat rooms on his work computer in which he spoke to other like minded individuals about child abuse.
Jackson, who admitted nine counts of making indecent photographs of a child and a single count of possessing indecent images, appeared at Southwark Crown Court for his sentencing today. (FRI)
Prosecutor Roger Daniells-Smith said: ‘This matter arose out of a police investigation in relation to paedophile chat rooms where the defendant’s user address had been identified as participating on those sites.
‘As a result police issued warrants to search his home address and his office address, which were executed on October 7, 2013’.
The court heard that officers seized computers, phones, and a hard drive from Jackson’s home in Hackney, east London, in which dozens of child abuse images were uncovered.
Police also found pornographic images of children on Jackson’s computer at his solicitors’ firm, the court was told.
Anthony Edwards, defending, said Jackson has been looking at child pornography for over five years as an ‘escape’ from the ‘highly  stressful environment’ at his workplace.
But Judge Michael Gledhill QC interrupted and said: ‘How can stress from a job, or anywhere else, lead you to paedophile information exchange websites and looking at this filth?’
Jackson, who has admitted having a sexual interest in young girls, has since quit his job and is now relying on income support.
Judge Gledhill handed Jackson a 12-month prison sentence suspended for a year and a 60-day supervision order.
He said: ‘I find it almost impossible to understand how an extremely intelligent 31-year-old such as yourself, qualified as a barrister, working as a solicitor, with a wife and child, could put your career and your family in jeopardy because of your appetite for looking at
these indecent images of children.
‘It was not only in the privacy of your own home, but also at your place of employment.
‘For a respected man of your church and community who has let down not only yourself, and your family, but your friends and those that you worked with, both in your professional activities and in your community work, it is a very long way to fall’.
Jackson, wearing a black suit and his wedding ring in the dock, remained emotionless throughout proceedings.
His wife, a researcher at University College London, watched on from the public gallery.
Judge Gledhill added: ‘The result has been no doubt incredible on your wife, to say nothing of the pressure on yourself, letting down all these people, having to resign from your work, leaving your income very low indeed’.
Jackson, of Victoria Park Road, South Hackney, east London, pleaded guilty to nine counts of making indecent photographs of a child and a single count of possessing indecent images.
