Timothy Dale Poole won $3m (£1.9m) on the Florida state lottery in the US, and even smugly posed with a cheque after his big win.
Newly-wealthy Poole pleaded guilty to the sexual battery of a nine-year-old boy in 1999, serving 13 months in jail.
However, he has always strenuously denied the claims, despite his guilty plea.
He said last month: “It may be hard for some to believe, but sometimes people are wrongly accused.”
Neighbour Howard Johnson took a different view, telling WKMG: “That’s pretty crappy if you ask me.”
Poole won big after buying a scratchcard at the weekend.
He is apparently planning to invest some of the money into his mum’s taxi business.
