Hartlepool want to sign rapist Evans

THE convicted rapist Ched Evans may be on the brink of a return to football with relegation-threatened Hartlepool United.
The club’s manager, Ronnie Moore, yesterday said he would be prepared to sign Evans, 25, to play for his struggling League Two team despite the row that would undoubtedly follow. Hartlepool are six points adrift at the bottom of League Two.
“He has made a mistake and maybe he hasn’t apologised in the right way — and I know he has an appeal case pending — but if he gets on the park, he would go a long way to getting us out of trouble,” Moore said.
