German police arrested ten men and one woman on Saturday evening suspected of being core members of a paedophile ring operating across the country. The group’s members used their own children to contact their victims.
Officers made the arrests after a raid on the group’s annual gathering near the town of Aschersleben, police in the central Saxony-Anhalt region said on Sunday.
Law enforcement agents declined to give details on the group’s suspected activity, but said information indicated that members had used their own children to make contact with victims.
Despite the group being “extremely discreet and careful”, investigators had discovered it met once a year to exchange contacts and plan alleged illegal acts, police added.
The arrests include ten men aged 22 to 60 and a 57-year-old woman.
