FIRST CHIMP

20161014_134457.pngTwo BBC presenters were forced to apologise after introducing Scottish first Minster Nicola Sturgeon while footage of a chomping gorilla played.

Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt stifled
laughs as they admitted the clip of the gorilla which escaped from
London Zoo last night was shown by mistake.

Ms Munchetty introduced the video by saying: “We’re
going to be joined by the Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon.
We’ll talk to her about her plans for a second referendum on
independence.”

But as she spoke, the broadcast cut to Kumbuka, a 29-stone silverback, sat in the grass chomping and screwing his face up.

Attempting to rectify the gaffe, Mr Stayt interjected: “I’m sorry we’ve very clearly run the wrong pictures over that particular sequence. My
apologies there. The story we will be taking about later, as you’ve
probably guessed from the pictures, is about the escaped gorilla at
London Zoo.
We will be speaking to one of the gorilla keepers from the zoo.”
