Man in wheelchair sexually assaulted woman on train at Uddingston
The 44-year-old victim was grabbed as she attempted to get off the Exhibition Centre to Lanark service at Uddingston station at about 22:50 on Friday.
She was uninjured but left shaken by the incident.
The suspect is described as being aged in his mid 30s, of medium build and with short dark hair. He was wearing a cream top and jeans.
Officers from British Transport Police (BTP) are reviewing CCTV from stations in Glasgow and Lanarkshire, as well as from the train.
Det Con David Merchant, the BTP officer in charge of the inquiry, appealed for anyone with information to get in touch.
He added: “This was an extremely unsavoury and unwarranted attack and I am appealing for anyone who can provide information which can help identify the man in the wheelchair responsible to come forward.
“This was a very busy service with people returning from a sell-out concert at the Hydro and supporters travelling home after the Scotland and Republic of Ireland match at Celtic Park.”
