Elm Guest House: “Boy brothel boss” Haroon Kasir to leave Britain for America
According to Exaro, the 68-year-old is making plans to raise £60,000 to emigrate to the US, the Sunday People has reported
Haroon Kasir, known as Harry, ran the Elm Guest House in south-west London for four years from 1979 with wife Carole, who is now dead, the Sunday People reports .
According to Exaro, Kasir, 68, is making plans to raise £60,000 to emigrate to the US and has applied for a visa.
His 40-year-old son already lives in the state of Connecticut.
Last month detectives raided Kasir’s home in Richmond, close to where the former guest house used to operate as a gay brothel.
They did not arrest him but are expected to want to speak to him again as a key figure.
Kasir is understood to own 25 per cent of a house where he lived with a former partner who has no connection with his past at Elm Guest House. She has agreed to pay £60,000 – after taking into account the outstanding mortgage – under a deal set to go through within the next 10 days.
One source close to Kasir revealed he has applied for a US resident’s visa, not a tourist visa.
Kasir, who was convicted in 1982 with Carole of running a brothel at the Elm, has UK and Pakistani passports.
He is thought to be using his UK passport for his US application.
On Thursday, Richmond’s former head of children’s services Terry Earland said he had no doubt boys were sexually abused at the Elm.
