The
looming nationwide roll-out of the Scottish Government’s Named Person
policy, in which a health visitor or teacher is appointed to oversee the
welfare of every child until the age of 18, has divided opinion across
the country.
 
Critics
say it is an unnecessary intrusion into the family life and will waste
resources by targeting the wrong people, but supporters say it has
proved to be successful in trial areas such as the Highlands.
