Bill Cosby refused to discuss the growing slew of sex allegations against him during a video interview in which he was sitting next to his wife of 50 years.
In tense exchanges with a reporter the comedian was given the opportunity to respond to widely publicised claims that he drugged and sexually assaulted a string of women, but he said: “We don’t, I don’t, talk about it.”
Cosby, 77, then tried to pressure the Associated Press, which conducted the interview, not to broadcast any reference to the claims.
The interview, carried out on Nov 6, was ostensibly to publicise Cosby’s donation of art works to the Smithsonian in Washington DC, and his wife Camille was seated in the chair next to him.
The reporter said he “had to ask” if there was a response to the sex accusations.
