The father of a rapist threatened to kill a trial witness just hours after his son was convicted of a series of shocking sex attacks.
Alexander Ord, 24, was found guilty of attacking sleeping and intoxicated women and jailed for 16 years earlier this year.
Later the same day, his vengeful dad, Geoffrey Ord, went to the home of a witness while drunk and armed with a rounders bat, the Chronicle Liver reported .
A
court heard the 57-year-old shouted vile threats and said he would
“kill you all”, leaving two young children at the house upset.
Now he has been given a suspended prison sentence after he admitted possessing an offensive weapon and taking revenge.
Newcastle Crown Court heard the woman was at home in Northumberland around 8.30pm on March 15 this year when Ord turned up.

Sarah Mallett, prosecuting, said: “The defendant’s son had
been the defendant in a case at this court, which came to an end on
March 15.
“The complainant’s family say they had experienced ongoing problems from Geoffrey Ord and his family
“The case finished on Tuesday March 15.
“At 8.30pm, the witness was at home when she heard a man shouting at the front of her home and looked out and saw the defendant.
“He was carrying a metal pole which she said was about 18 inches long.
“He
was waving the metal pole aggressively and shouting ‘I’m going to kill
you all’ and ‘do you want a war? I will give you a war’.”
The outburst left two young children who were present upset, the court heard.
Miss
Mallett said a neighbour also heard the commotion. She said: “The
neighbour describes his threatening manner and says he was really angry
and she thought he was going to harm someone.”
Ord, of Seaburn
View, New Hartley, Northumberland, was later arrested at his home and
insisted he would not have used the rounders bat, which he said was made
from hollow aluminium.
He pleaded guilty to taking revenge and
possessing an offensive weapon and was given six months suspended for
two years with a restraining order.
